Wearable Tech Devices

Pet owners will likely change how they keep an eye on their pets with these wearable tech devices. Owners can now check on their pet’s daily activity. Activity monitors track your pet’s exercise. GPS trackers can also help you monitor your pet’s location. Pet cameras provide video of your pet’s daily life and adventures. Pet emotion sensors, pet to human translation devices, and a veterinary monitoring device to be worn at home are examples of devices that may be available in the future. Many of the current devices can be worn in water. They come with long-lasting, rechargeable batteries. The devices will transfer information to smartphones via WiFi or Bluetooth. Some of the devices are also tamper-proof to deter theft of pets. FitBark, Whistle Activity Monitor, StarWalk, and Tagg GPS Plus Pet Tracker, and Vetcorder Home are examples of wearable tech devices. Veterinary Pet Monitoring Devices

Veterinarians may soon be able to collect data about a pet’s health status from wearable devices. Heart and breathing rates, oxygen levels, temperatures, blood pressures, and EKG’s can be collected. The new wearable device being developed weighs less than eighty grams. A veterinarian can use it to see how the pet is doing at home. A harness keeps the device in place. The data is sent via Bluetooth to a tablet or mobile device. The Vetcorder Home is not yet available for use in pets but holds promise for improved pet care.

Pet owners will now be able to more closely watch their pets. Veterinarians will also be able to track data for pets to improve their care.
